Announcement: Matt Pecson Creates Painting for Family of Late Musician Songwriter Andrew Gold

The family of the late musician songwriter Andrew Gold commissioned artist Matt Pecson to create a portrait based on a popular photo of the artist. Andrew Gold worked throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's writing songs and working with musicians such as Linda Ronstadt, Carly Simon, Cher, Juice Newton, Brian Wilson among many others. He was probably best known for writing the theme song from the hit TV show The Golden Girls "Thank You For Being a Friend".

He had a Top Ten hit in 1977 with the song "Lonely Boy", which was later used on the sound tracks for the movie Boogie Nights (1997) and Adam Sandler's The Waterboy (1998). The song was also covered by the band Foo Fighters.
